I reckon the Koch-waffles in charge find this to be win-win: if the miners die before retiring, the overbastards get to stop their meagre pension contributions, and there’re always more desperate people ready to work the face. That’s why they invested so much in buying politicians, after all: to tear up the social safety net and ensure no one has a choice but to take their shitty jobs.

    Every day, I find new reasons to loathe capitalism and the systemic creation and nurturing of parasites, like the vicious homo unumpercentum randii. Pitchfork time.
